Why We Built This Site
Kentucky provides several lawful ways to reach criminal record information, yet each office answers a different question. Clay County law enforcement creates arrest and incident records. The Circuit Court Clerk keeps District and Circuit Court files. Kentucky State Police maintains the central criminal-history repository, while the Administrative Office of the Courts offers court-derived reports. Kentucky Department of Corrections and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry cover still other records. We assembled the verified contacts, request paths, costs, and search limits so readers can start with the office that holds the original material.
What You Will Find Here
- Official offices: current contacts for the Clay County sheriff, detention center, and Circuit Court Clerk
- Record routes: ways to locate and understand Clay County criminal court cases
- State systems: distinctions among KSP checks, AOC court reports, KOOL, and the Kentucky Sex Offender Registry
- Record relief: Kentucky expungement certification and filing steps for eligible records
What We Cannot Do
This is a privately run reference site, not part of a Kentucky court, police department, sheriff's office, or state agency. Those boundaries mean we cannot:
- We cannot run an official background check or pull a criminal record for anyone
- We cannot file expungement petitions, records requests, or any other paperwork on your behalf
- We cannot issue certified copies of any criminal record, court document, or rap sheet
- We cannot give legal advice or explain how a specific charge or case applies to you
- We cannot guarantee that every phone number, fee, or address listed on this site is current right now
An official copy must come from its source, such as the Clay County Circuit Court Clerk, the arresting agency, or Kentucky State Police. This site can identify that source but cannot issue the document.
Search Partners
Outside providers power search boxes shown on some pages. Each provider controls its own results, prices, terms, and data practices. A completed paid signup may generate a referral fee that supports the site. We do not set the provider's charges or determine which records its service returns.
